Dr. Shahin Panahov, a Fulbright Visiting Scholar, is Vice-Rector on International Relations at Baku State University and will spend his time in Princeton involved with research on American high/higher educational institutions, especially host institution knowledge and practice in the researching/teaching of Sustainable Development/Sustainable Development Goals (SD/SDGs). He earned his Ph.D./Kandidat Nauk in Geography from Moscow State University in 1987 and was a Fulbright Scholar at the LBJ School of Public Affairs, University of Texas at Austin in 1985. In addition to academia, he has worked at the World Bank and the United Nations. He was a founder of Green Movement in Azerbaijan and founder and publisher of Green Azerbaijan (1996–2000). Among his more than 100 publications is World Geography textbook for public schools in Azerbaijan (1993–2014) and Environmental Atlas for Volunteers (2000).
