You’d Think Dictators Would Avoid Elections…Authors of World Politics Article Follow up in Blog

Monday, March 20, 2017

Carl Henrik Knutsen, Havard Mokleiv Nygard and Tore Wig, the authors of an article that ran in the January 2017 issue of World Politics, recently penned a follow-up piece that ran in the "Monkey Cage," a Washington Post blog site covering political science.

The blog, "You'd think dictators would avoid election. Here's why they don't," complements "Autocratic Elections: Stabilizing Tool or Force for Change?," an article that addresses whether elections reduce or increase the risk of authocratic regime breakdown and if there is a difference between election events and the institution of elections.

The original article is available for free download until April 15.
