Project on Democracy & Development

With the decline of the Washington Consensus on development, the issue of choosing appropriate alternatives for the developing world is at the forefront. Under the direction of Professors Atul Kohli and Deborah Yashar, the Project on Democracy and Development takes a multipronged approach to promote research and teaching at Princeton on topics such as democracy and inequality in the developing world; urban governance in the developing world; middle classes in the process of development; violence in new democracies; and democracy, diversity and development.
