Ronaldo de Almeida is Professor of Anthropology at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). He is also a researcher at the Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning (CEBRAP) and his research focuses on Pentecostalism, politics, and poverty. Almeida is the author of Conservadorismos, Fascismos e Fundamentalismos: Análises Conjunturais (“Conservatisms, Fascisms, and Fundamentalisms: Conjunctural Analyses,” with Rodrigo Toniol), A Igreja Universal e seus Demônios (“Universal Church of the Kingdom of God and its Demons”), and Religiões e Cidades: Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo (“Religions and Cities: Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo”).
